Family Support
The Family Support Program allocates funds for services and/or equipment that are not funded by Medicaid or other insurance companies. These funds are to assist individuals and their family for such things as clothing, medical care, wheelchair ramps or respite—based upon the family’s need.
Eligibility
Family Support funds cover goods or services not eligible for Medicaid funding. These funds are allocated to families with individuals who have been diagnosed as intellectually/developmentally disabled (I/DD) and who reside with their family. Families with children or adults meeting the I/DD qualification are eligible for these funds regardless of age or income.
A maximum of two applications per year may be submitted by a family for consideration by the Committee, with the combined annual maximum limit of $1,000.00. All receipts must be turned in to the Family Support Coordinator to be eligible for future funds.
The fiscal year for Family Support is July 1st through June 30th.
